EXOSKELETON
mostra personale di Leonida De Filippi che conclude il Progetto Artista 2013
A one-year lasting project, that has shown Vignato Group together with its Foundation, while associating its image to Leonida de Filippi’s “Urban Landscapes”, and literally wear art, to declare, stronger than ever in the past, its passion for this discipline, representing both an esthetical and professional approach.
Leonida de Filippi’s Art, professional from Milan, has escorted in every visual element all communications and activities of the Clinic and of Vignato Foundation during the whole 2013, promoting Art as linguistic code, a mandatory element in the conversation between every speaker and the Group. The project had its natural end with the EXOSKELETON Exhibition, where all last works of the artist were shown, including two dedicated to Vicenza city.
A rich and powerful exhibition on war topic, where the war images overlapped to a urban reality caught in its everyday life, gave back a representation of opposed coexistences, coming from an intricate and articulated contemporary age as the today one is.
Besides De Filippi’s works, created ad hoc, a video and a picture by the movie-maker Mitra Azar, active and present since years in the politically hottest areas of the world, so to witness how life flows along border regions.
Sono sculture totemiche che ricordano grandi palazzi, relitti contemporanei di un paesaggio deturpato, elementi traslucenti che trasmettono il senso di ricchezza e di potere che sovrintende i calcoli della distruzione – o della costruzione – a seconda.
Il titolo EXOSKELETON suona dunque come un’icona che va oltre il semplice concetto di “corazza” naturale degli insetti per difendersi dall’esterno. “Esso assume un significato traslato che racchiude tutte le contraddizioni dell’epoca contemporanea che l’artista esprime in questi suoi nuovi paesaggi urbani” – scrive nel suo commento alla mostra la critica Rachele Ferrario – “Exoskeleton si trasforma in armatura contro ogni forma di oppressione, è un antidoto alla crisi economica”.
Le contraddizioni del reale e il tema della guerra, cari all’indagine di De Filippi, sono anche al centro del progetto collaterale LIVE#1 che vede il film-maker e artista Mitra Azar partecipare alla mostra con un lavoro fotografico e, in parallelo, un video che racconta l’ultimo viaggio che lo ha portato ad attraversare una moltitudine di confini di una delle aree più delicate del Medio Oriente, dove le guerre si svolgono davvero.
“Essere sul posto” è il modus operandi di Mitra: “Da circa 3 anni mi muovo costantemente tra alcuni paesi che attraversano i postumi della primavera araba e in diversi modi, prevalentemente attraverso l’uso delle immagini, cerco di capire cos’è accaduto e cosa sta succedendo. Da un anno svolgo una ricerca sulla relazione tra i concetti di confine e cicatrice, esploro alcuni dei confini politicamente più caldi al mondo, realizzo operazioni artistiche site-specific e ne documento l’esperienza”.
Nella mostra i diversi strumenti di rappresentazione impiegati perseguono simili finalità: la pittura e la scultura, da un lato, rappresentano il grande tema dell’esistenza quotidiana, il realismo crudo del documentario dall’altro testimonia una realtà apparentemente distante, che in fondo presenta lo stesso verso della medaglia.
EXOSKELETON esce dallo spazio espositivo e arriva anche sui muri della città dove, sui manifesti dell’evento, la Fondazione Vignato dichiara che “l’Arte è la sua seconda pelle”, con i committenti raffigurati in abiti da lavoro e tatuati dell’opera di De Filippi.

A matter of looks…
Progetto Artista 2013 dresses the Vignato Group through Art in order to declare, even in a stronger way than what has been done so far, our passion for this discipline, representing both an aesthetic and a professional approach.
The Art expressed by Leonida De Filippi, professional artist from Milan, will accompany every visual element of the communication and activities of the Vignato group practice and Foundation during the year 2013. It will launch a new type of planning which will see an artist portray our image with a different project and ad hoc works for each coming year.
Art as an inspiration, a suggestion, a creative incentive, a social amplifier and an element marking our professional approach, thus making empathy a key value in our relationship with patients, enters deliberately in the activities and in all the materials that we use daily: from environments to web pages, from documents used internally to the ones we share with our patients.
Having chosen Art as the quid providing us with an added value every day, is by now the integral part of our vision and our way of communicating. Thus, giving our global image to De Filippi’s artistic inspiration for a year, is a big act of confidence in her message which we share and have therefore decided to make ours as well.
An Italian song recited It’s a matter of looks…, and for us it was all about common points of view, or even the will to look beyond what we always have under our eyes in order to eliminate the filter and those frames of mind to which social structures and the everyday routine have got us used to.
Leonida De Filippi’s style makes of glance and of the ability of graphic manipulation her foundations, achieving a communicative efficacy able to throw whoever gets her message into a reality that goes beyond, that wants to be direct and aware. It is an Art which is able to go in depth, thanks to the skills and the technical precision which proficiently support the union between technology and artistic sensitivity.
These elements of unceasing research and the will to go beyond the surface of things are features that we made ours in our daily life with the constant improvement of doctors’ abilities, thanks to the will of always searching for new solutions to your demands and to the need of experimenting different forms of empathic relationship with you patients.
Through Progetto Artista, we will do our best to strongly share with you our passion, allowing you to take Art and Leonida De Filippi’s message in “portable formats” outside our dental office.
